Lego Adventures with Mario and Lego NES due for August releases

Exciting times ahead for Nintendo fans who also like their Lego bricks as the company team up with Nintendo to produce some fantastic looking new sets – Adventures With Mario (71360) and Nintendo Entertainment System (71374).

First up we have the Adventures with Mario Starter Course which sees a familiar looking ‘course’ with which you can use the supplied interactive Mario figure who reacts to the bricks he’s touching by way of a sensor on his feet and small screens on his belly and face. Bowser Jnr. is also included but isn’t interactive. Available for pre-order from the Lego website, expect these to sell out quickly!

We will be reviewing the Adventure with Mario Starter Course in early August so watch this space.

Also releasing in August is Lego’s new Nintendo Entertainment System set, and this one looks stunning. Comprising of a detailed NES console, controller, cartridge AND vintage looking TV, this set takes things to another level interactivity-wise. Crank the handle on the TV set and the ‘picture’ scrolls sideways revealing a level that Mario moves through. Add to that, the ability to use the new Mario character from the Adventures with Mario sets who interacts with what’s happening on screen and you have one of the most interactive Lego sets yet made.

We can’t wait to see these sets for real. Roll on August!

  1. I love that Nintendo are dabbling in so many different things this year. I love LEGO and this looks awesome. The NES logo one looks good too.
